While his flocks wandered, grazing upon the green grass, a shepherd, sighing to the heavens, asked for revenge upon love. 'From the day that my eyes were opened, such pain,' said he, 'never have I suffered. Let Love feel, O gods, the same torment that torments me, so that it would become merciful, or at least give lovers some respite.' |
