Original ItalianTranslation
sempre smarrito vo, come ella vole,
che sue dolce parole
mi fan mesto restar fin al ritorno.
Pitiful rhymes, and you, cold sighs:
rush to clear waves of the lovely Tiber
where jofully hidden is
Anna, sole cause of my torments,
to whom you will say that by night and day
I always wander aimlessly, as she wishes,
for her sweet words
make me melancholy until her return at last.
