Such, Lady, do I esteem your eyes of scorn; as much as I esteem Love's scepter or reign. And much do I honor Love as a dainty child wandering in vain; strike then with your arrows and you will see whether your god can do naught to mortals. I, because he is a vain deity, am quite happy when he is far away. |
